Plant Propagation: A Scientific Inquiry
Rational:
In developing a list of materials for use in the instructional
unit Plant Propagation: A Scientific Inquiry, the following criteria
was used.
- High School setting grades 9 – 12
- 1 teacher per classroom
- 27 students per classroom
- Students will work in teams numbering 3
- 9 total teams perform plant propagation
- Each team performs 2 separate plant propagations
- Educational emphasis is placed on seed germination
List of materials for instructional kit:
- 18 - Student Seed Kits (2 per team) (4 cells per kit)
- 1 - Teacher Seed Kit (12 cells per kit)
- 9 - 4" x 4" steadyGROWpro blocks for young plant transplanting (1 per team) (1 for teacher)
- 9 - 18" long, plant support Cardettes (1 per team) (1 for teacher)
- 9 - Plastic saucers for holding transplant blocks (1 per team) (1 for teacher)
- 1 - Sample cloning plug kit for vegetative propagation
- 2 - packets Dwarf Sunflower seeds (50 count per packet)
- 1 - Written Instructional guide, PowerPoint presentation on CD
