Rational:
In developing a list of materials for use in the instructional
unit Sprout Jones: Life Science Education, the following
criteria was used.
- Elementary School setting grades K – 6
- 1 teacher per classroom
- 27 students per classroom
- Students will work independently or teams
- Each student will perform one (1) plant propagation
- Educational emphasis is seed germination
List of materials for instructional kit:
- 12 - Student Seed kits (4 seed cells)
- 1 - Teacher Seed kit (12 seed cells)
- 13 - 4" x 4" steadyGROWpro blocks for plant transplanting
- 13 - Saucers to hold media blocks (7" dia.)
- 13 - 18" long plant support Cardettes.
- 1 - Packet Dwarf Sunflower seeds (50 count per packet)
- 1 - Written instructional guide / PowerPoint presentation on CD
