The primary difference between steadyGROWpro (yellow-colored media) and steadyGROWpro H+ (brown-colored media) is water retention. SteadyGROWpro is a low-water-retention soilless media, and steadyGROWpro H+ is a high-water-retention soilless media. Click here for detailed information on the water retention and water column capabilities of these foams.
steadyGROWpro
SteadyGROWpro is most suited for growers using the following methods of growing:
- NFT Hydroponic Systems
- Floating Hydroponic Systems
- Drip Irrigation
- Recycled and reusable watering systems
- Ebb and Flow Hydroponics
SteadyGROWpro does require a more aggressive watering schedule, but it is the ideal soilless media for hydroponic systems or any soilless growing system in which the media is in constant contact with water or is watered frequently. With the correct watering regiment, it provides the perfect mix of oxygen and water solution to the seedling and roots. SteadyGROWpro's unique composition also eliminates algae growth at the surface of the media. Click here for more information on no algae growth when using steadyGROWpro.
steadyGROWpro H+
SteadyGROWpro H+ is most suited for growers using the following methods of soilless growing:
- Plant Propagation
- Subirrigation Systems (systems which floods underneath the media for a short period of time)
- Systems which reuse or recycle water supply
- Overhead misting or watering
SteadyGROWpro H+ capillary action is superior and it does retain water for a longer period of time. When watering infrequently is preferred, or in situations where the media is not in constant contact with a water source, steadyGROWpro H+ is the correct choice. Depending on the watering regiment, growth of algae along the surface of steadyGROWpro H+ may occur.
